DP/PA Link vs. DP/PA Coupler

Nahuel Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hello all I have a simple question: what are the differences between a DP/PA Link 6ES157-0AA82 and a DP/PA coupler 6ES157-0AC82? I have an aplication where I only need to connect a single PA instrument to an existent DP network - there's an S7-300 controller on that network as a master. Wich one is the one I have to choos? Why? Might like to read some pro's and con's in case both of them could do the job. Thanks in advance Kind regards Nahuel

Dear Nahue, The coupler might be used directly on the Profibus, but you have to switch the baudrare down to 45 kBit/s. When there are no other slaves on the Profibus that is no problem to do. When you have other slaves on the Profibus you don't want to switch back in baudrate and you could use a DP/PA-Link... After a link you could use more couplers, see the documantation for more information.

Front connector??? Dear Nahuel, The IM 153-2BA01 is used as Link for PA, Y-Link for the H-System and as IM 153-2 for ET 200M, so there are less components. But it is defenetely NO coupler... You need cable for Profibus DP and cable for Profibus PA, a connector for Profibus DP, a powersupply and the wiring for the 24V, a backplainand that's it. Please check or you can feed with the coupler the equipment that you want to place behind the coupler...
