Thanks to all for their suggestions. Dear AMAZINGAHMED I haven't tried what you have suggested this but will definitely give it a try. Will this update the OS also. ? Dear Amit_86SolutionFinder DS SURESH KUMAR Hit_Formula Profibus address is NOT a problem as we have checked the same. We are download the program to the first Unit with any address while we cannot download to the second unit with any address. I have removed the units and connected them directly to the CPU profibus one by one ( WIth only the CPU, HMI and PG connected ). We are able to see the 2nd unit is accessible nodes. It communicated with the CPU with the existing program loaded. It communicates with the WinCC Flexible intitally when we select "Transfer" and displays the Window " The unit requires OS update " . Thereafter it stops communicating. Dear rdoliveira We have tried with Prosame with similar results, We even tried to connect the HMI to PG using a Ethernet cable and tried "Factory Reset" but even that does not work. YES. It takes a complete image of the first panel and copies it to the second panel, like when you make a ghost image of your PC.

Dear Navnag, try the USB flash and it will do the job. If you can't connect to the second MP, then maybe something wrong with the configuration on the MP itself or the OS is corrupted. When you copy from the first MP to the second one, all the settings will be reset as the first screen. You need a USB flash not smaller than 2GB.

Hi, After factory reset just check the communcation setting options and If you have ethernet option check the Pinging information. |

Dear DS SURESH KUMAR I have already mentioned in my previous post that we are not able to even give factory reset !! So we cannot reach the stage of changing the parameters "After Factory Reset" The HMI is visible in "View Accessible Nodes" on Profibus as well as "Pinging" in Ethernet. Dear AMAZINGAHMED I am back from the site. Presently we loaded the software on a spare HMI available with the customer. Will definitely try your suggestion and post the results here. Thanks Navnag |

Hello, If you already tried all above sugessions, and if you are completely sure that the setting of the MP is typically like the first one, then contact your local Siemens office. Please see puti's reply of thisthread. He found that he bought some panels without image or without a complete image. So may be something wrong with your panel itself. And if you are still within warrenty, Siemens will replace this panel for you. Hope this helps.

Dear Ayman Elotaify Thanks for the suggestion. I too feel the Panel OS is currupted. Unfortunately the units are not in warranty. These have been working fine for last 4 years. We were now trying to add some new Alarms in the HMI panels when we encountered this problem. Thanks Navnag |

Hello, Very strange! I am interesting to know what happen for this panel. Did you tried to update the OS and cut the power before finishing OS update?

Hello Ayman Elotaify Well we have not been able to initiate the OS update even once on this HMI. Cannot say for sure if customer had tried it himself ( At least they are not telling us even if the tried something ). Dear rdoliveira Thanks for your suggestions. I had gone through this post. I think that the only thing we have not attemped is adding a switch in between when trying through TCP/IP. We though this should not matter as we could PING the HMI. I do not have any opportunity until next week to try it out as I will have to either go myself or send someone to this customer to try the suggestions. Cheers Navnag |
