Another question:

If you wanted to program so the Valve Opened at a specific time, say opened at midnight for a 10 minute duration then closed, is the best way to do this by implementing a weekly timer?

In this case you would select the active days and times, so MTWTFSS On1=00:00, Off1=00:10, or I suppose you would have to have the pulse output specify the Off or end of the cycle?

 In this case, you have the weekly timer setting time to start with an off delay timers triggering the pulse of the 2 different outputs?

In the simulation I'm not seeing the switch over from Q2 to Q1, trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong, or maybe I'm thinking about this the wrong way. 

It probably needs to pulse twice with given there are two outputs Q1 (Open) and Q2 (close)

Could you set 2 CAM times so a pulse is repeated after 10minutes of being opened from triggering Q1 to then trigger Q2 to close the valve? 

This is so cool and a more elegant solution! So apologies in advance, I'm new to this and trying to understand how this all works better.

Flag M8 is a startup flag so it is what triggers the weekly timer when the timer hits 00:00. It will trigger that flag again when 00:00 hits the next day.

Once triggered, Q1 is off for the first 10mins, following the 10mins Q2 is then triggered and off until the M8 flag is triggered the next day. 

Still running into a problem though:

I ran the simulation and it doesn't trigger the weekly timer to repeat the process, the process starts up at the beginning of the simulation and runs for 10mins but then doesn't reset when the weekly timer comes around. 

The easiest way to solve your problem you can see in attachment.

First option is the weekly timer with on and off time, a "not" block and your 2 outputs.

Second option is the weekly timer with pulse output, an off-delay timer, a "not" block and your 2 outputs.

Both options will work with the same result. On 00:00 Q1(Q3) goes on for 10 minutes and then Q2(Q4) goes on for 23:50h.

But first you must know, how the valves are working exactly.
1) Is it okay, that the outputs are switching over without pause ?
2) Is it okay, that Q2(Q4) are switched on for 23:50h ?

Maybe you need an other option, if Q1 is on for 1s the system will remain in open position, until Q2 is on for 1s and then remain in close position ? Or anything else, i don't know.

Can you add more than 3 CAMS? If you wanted to do 10mins of filtered every hour, on the hour, every day, or is this not the right input to use?
