Hello PLc engineer; First, here is the webpage for the 7SJ80 protection relay: http://www.energy.siemens.com/hq/en/automation/power-transmission-distribution/protection/siprotec-compact/overcurrent-protection/7sj80.htm You will find a link to "Downloads for 7SJ80" that will provide (page 7 of 10) Profibus-DP GSD files and mappings. You will have to select the correct version of the GSD file based on the version of the relay and DIGSI software. Dtaa exchanged over Profibus is organized in telegrams called "mappings" that you cannot change, so study the different mappings available for our relay and choose the one that gives you the required data with the minimum amount of registers transfered. You also must configure the relay through DIGSI in order toenable comms over the relay'sProfibus-DP interface, choosethe selected mapping and the settings for the relay's Input/Output digital signals. Then, in order to communicate qith a S7-400H system you will need to use a Y-Link so the redundant Profibus-DP masters can talk to the relay (which has a non-redundant Profibus-DP interface). I want to communicate relays to my Profibus DP network using Y-Links DP communication to Siprotec4 Which active backplane bus modules do you need when using the DP/PA link or Y link? Second; you mention you want to start/stop your MV motor... do you plan to do this using the protection relay? And how exactly? To my knowledge the protection relays are just that, protection against different electrical events. I would be surprised if they can be used as motor starters. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello Plc engineer; Open the link that was provided earlier for the 7SJ80 relay; there you will find a tab of the available functions that can be implemented in the relay, and if you examine them you will understand that it is not designed as a start/stop controller for a MV motor. What else is in this panel? You must have recieved even before the panel some electrical diagrams, control schematics, equipment list... from the vendor. Are there direct starter circuits and fuses, or a soft starters inside? MV motor control circuits are not miniturized, they are quite large actually and must be idetifiable. What family of contriols ddo you have in the panel? Do any of the equipment models match the links available here? http://www.energy.siemens.com/hq/apps/search/en/index.php?collapse=true&SCSConfig=ENERGYSIEMENSCOM-WWWHQEN&class=search%2Cbanner%2Ctext&q=MV+motor+control If nothing else, contact the vendor and ask them directly your question on Profibus interface for motor control. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Dear Dchartier Thnx for ur reply. now i have DIGSI 4.83 and i am trying to set the profibus dp parameters in SIPROTEC device by following a manual about profibus interface of 7SK806 using DEGSI.right now i am facing a problem regarding maping file and manual say to select a maping file by drop down list but i could not find any maping file in drop down file only written <none>.Plz have a look on attached file for clear picture of the problem and plz get me out from this problem. I really appreciate ur help Thanx Attachmentmaping.pdf (483 Downloads) |

Hello Plc engineer; I have never worked with a Siprotec7SK80 motor protection relay. However, when I look at the communications mappings download page from siprotec.de, I can only find a mapping for: 7SJ80/7SK80 Bus mapping for comm. module "Redundant IEC 60870-5-103" http://siemens.siprotec.de/download_neu/index_e.htm I cannot locate a Profibuis-DP mapping for this relay. Are you sure you have a DP sl;ave moduel integrated in your 7SK806 relay? Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
