WinCC Flexible simulator and PLCSIM can not control each other

jiayuan0727 Experienced Member Joined: 2/15/2012 Last visit: 8/5/2025 Posts: 29 Rating: (0)	I am doing a WINCC FLEX + PLCSIM joint simulation. I found PLCSIM can control WINCC FLEX simulator, but WINCC FLEX simulator does not control PLCSIM. For example, a digital inputin PLCSIMis connected to a button in WINCC FLEX simulator, when i click on the digital input in PLCSIM, i can see the button in WINCC FLEX simulator is pressed, however, when i press the button in WINCC FLEX simulator, there is no response in PLCSIM. Why does this happen? can i make them control each other?

Tweety Please look at the attached figure. The PLCSIM can run as what we expected. THe PLCSIM seems linked to WINCC FLEX as well, as when i click on the input or output in PLCSIM, the related buttons or lights is pressed/released or on/offas expected. Hello jiayuan0727, The WinCC flexible simulator and PLCSIM does not work tougther. You must work with WinCC flexible Runtime and PLCSIM. That work fine. You can only work with the WinCC flexiblesimulator alone. Tweety

The problem for me is: it looks wincc flex runtime can communicate with PLCSIM, but it looks i can only change the input/output inPLCSIM. for example: Assuming the initial stateof aswitch in wincc flexruntimeandI0.0 in PLCSIMis set to be off/0.the switch is connectedto I 0.0. In my system, if i tick I 0.0 in PLCSIM, i can see the switch in wincc flex runtime is pressed down. But with the same initial status,when i press downthe switch in wincc flex runtime, there is no response in PLCSIM, and the switch is automatically bounced back to 0. It looks that PLCSIM is a master controller in this joint simulation, the Wincc Flex runtime only show what is being done in PLCSIM, it doest not control the data status.
