F22 fault in MM430

Pranab Posts: 63 Rating: (1)	Dear Epert, In our drive system, 200 kw MM430 drive is operated from LCS (By Start/stop PB and increse/decrease PB) and PLC. For Profibus module we have use external 24V supply for status of drive in PLC if power off in the drive panel. But whenever we put on the MCCB, F22 fault occured on the drive. After reseting the drive from BOP, dive goes to healthy mode. Pl suggest for avoid this fault. Regards Pranab

Graeme Platinum Expert Joined: 6/4/2008 Last visit: 8/5/2025 Posts: 1518 Rating: (327)	Hi, there is also a little known issue thatONLY APPLIESif you are using a Profibus DP module on "Px" size drives containing firmware versions r0018=2.0 or earlier. The symptom is intermittent F0022 and A0522 warnings. If you are using a DP module, and it is fed with an external 24VDC supply, this supply needs to be taken to the auxilliary drive 24VDC input found on X9 (Bottom left on the drive next to the Fan supply) Regards, Graeme

Looking at the problem reported and the solutions provided by our experts i feel your problem should be solved by the solution provided by Graeme. Just as an additional information to all the members of the forumi would like to share my experience. This fault in the PX size of drives ( i.e. MM440 range > 75 kw and MM430 range >90kw) can be because of a defective IGD board. In these drives the IGBT modules and the driver ckt for the IGBT comes as 1 piece andis called as IGD board. Its is 6 pack IGBT with the driver ckt. The drive will run very fine upto a particular level of load and trips with F0022 as soon as the load increases. So if any one comes across such a situation you can try replacing the IGD at first.
