Ok - I tried to start over one more time, so maybe better forget, what I said before, to avoid confusion :). This time, I prepared another PC for running the OPC-Server. Now I have one PC with a CP1616. The CP1616 is still hooked up to my I/O - Device. That still works. Then I have my second PC with a standard NIC (IE General) an an OPC Server running. I did it the way, described in this tutorial: https://a248.e.akamai.net/cache.automation.siemens.com/dnl/DU0NTUxMwAA_17532609_FAQ/Guide_S7_IE_Appl_e.pdf Everyone "sits" in the same network. Pinging works. In the tutorial they show, how to do an S7 Connection to some S7-Device. The thing is: I dont have a S7 device. So my server runs, but doesn't have any data coming in/out. Which conenction do I have to create on the OPC-Server to talk to my I/O Device? Just a normal TCP-Connection going to that devices IP ? No that can't be, because the normal Profinet IO stuff runs over a controller. So I have to talk to my CP1616 somehow, don't I? And how? |

Hello. I guess that you need two pcs for that configuration. PC1 (you have already done) with CP1616 as IO controller for your devices. PC2 with SOFTNET PNIO and OPC Server as IO Controller for your CP1616 as device. The CP1616 has also to be configured as IO-Router. "SIMATIC NET Industrial Communications Commissioning PC Stations - Manual and Quick Start" in chapter 2.5.2.4 There is also a sample configuration. I suggest to try it on this way. |
