connect TP700 Comfort Panel to CPU1214C via ethernet port

After compile I get these messages on PLC and HMI compile window: "Failed to create a connection for the requested PLC <S7-1200>. The reason may be that the maximum number of supported connections has been exceeded.,8/3/2011,1:00:57 PM " '"The attachment type of the local port IE_CP_1\PROFINET_Interface_1 [X1]\Port_1 [X1 P1] is different from the attachment type of the partner port S7-1200\PROFINET interface_1 [X32768]\Port_1 [X32768 P1].,0,1,1:51:28 PM If I replace TP700 with KTP600 the connection work fine. What I do wrong? Thank you.

I realized that when I added new text to the HMI the text didnt appear. I just could visualize the word "Text" everywhere I added new buttons or texts. That is why I decided to remove and to add again the HMI (KP600)... now Im not able to connect! Im not able to upgrade the cpu firmware since I havent the SD card from Siemens... Please help me !!! What can I do? Thanks! **************************************************************************************************************** Edited Now it is getting really bad... The connection works perfect between CPU1214C and TP700 via Ethernet. So.... 1. upgrade PLC firmware to V2 using 24MB SD card. 2. download latest TIA PORTAL V11 Update https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&lang=de&objid=50085730&caller=view 3. you can start a new project with both the PLC (configured as V2) and HMI and compile/downoad to HMI only; download to PLC after firmware upgrade.

Hi ionut.b, thanks for answering! I ve been working on it a little bit, and now connection works perfectly... but im getting this black screen... I was already working with V11 SP1 (is it the latest? ) Do you think that this black screen has something to do with the cpu running firmware 1.0? Unfortunately I dont have the 24mb sd card so I guess that I will have to go back to TIA V10.5 and keep in there :( Thanks!

(HMI or TIA)? There are a lot of new features both in TIA V11 and firmware V2; I think you shoud use the latest tools Siemens provides to the engineer; both TIA and S7-1200 are "new" products , and there are continuosly upgraded; and a lot of "bugs" elliminated. Depending on your application there could be some limitations for TIA V10.5 and firmware V1.0. I think the firmware V2.0 is worth (especialy fo datalog and webserver). Also TIA V11 is more stable. Thank you.

I wish it was the TIA :( I downloaded the update but when I run the instalation, it says that I have already a newer software running... which would be in my case TIA V11 SP1... // added attachment My big problem is that I do not have the 24MB memory card. I also tried to reset the HMI to factory settings, but seems like that functionality is not working properly in TIA V11 SP1. I also tried with prosave but nothing happens...
