Hi, A new feature that STEP7 V13 SP1 brings is the possibility to simulate S7-1200. S7PLCSIM V13 SP1 works in the TIA Portal in conjunction with STEP 7. The controller and all associated modules can be configured and the application logic programmed in STEP 7 and then loaded and simulated in S7PLCSIM. The program can be executed in PLCSIM and the effect on the simulated inputs and outputs can be monitored. This is now also possible for the S7-1200 PLC. TIP: It is available just for S7-1200 versions as from V4.0 and STEP7 / PLCSim as from V13 SP1 SP1 is available at: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/105825934 |

Hello huggy_d1, To start with find the different download links for STEP 7 v13 SP1 (Basic / Professional / PLCSIM)
If a PG/PC is installed with STEP 7 v13 (Basic / Professional / PLCSIM), then the second URL must be followed. If you are installing STEP 7 v13 (Basic / Professional / PLCSIM) for the first time in a PG/PC, then you can follow first URL. (here you don't need to install the v13 w/o SPx first and the install v13 SP1 seperately)
PLCSIM v13 incl SP1 is part of STEP 7 Basic v13 incl SP1 too. Find the excerpt fromDelivery Release for SIMATIC STEP 7 Professional / Basic V13 SP1is as mentioned below. "SIMATIC STEP 7 Basic V13 SP1is the easy to use engineering system for the modular SIMATIC S7-1200 micro PLC and the associated I/Os. It includes SIMATIC WinCC Basic for the configuration of the SIMATIC Basic Panels and PLCSIM for simulation of the S7-1200 CPUs."
You must install the SP1 for STEP 7 Professional v13 and also install PLCSIM v13 (incl) SP1 suitably then you can simulate S7-1200 controllers. Find the excerpt fromDelivery Release for SIMATIC STEP 7 Professional / Basic V13 SP1is as mentioned below. "SIMATIC STEP 7 ProfessionalV13 SP1is the easy to use, universal engineering system for the current SIMATIC controllers S7-1x00, S7-x00, WinAC, Software Controllerand ET 200 CPUs. PLCSIM for the simulation of the S7-1x00 CPUs, SIMATIC WinCC Basic for the configuration of the Basic Panels and SINAMICS Startdrive for the configuration of drives are included in the scope of delivery. The two option packages Easy Motion Control and PID Professional are included as trial versionsin STEP 7 Professional."
To get this clarified you can always look intoTIA Portal Readiness Check Toolwhich will help you tounderstand if the modules are supported / not supported by the TIA Portal; for the latter, the successor modules are displayed. Furthermore, a list of engineering software products - with which the hardware components can be processed - is shown. Hope this helps.
With STEP 7 Professional v13 SP1 you can simulate the all the S7-x00 (except S7-200), S7-1x00 CPUs and additionally Basic Panels (1st and 2nd Gen).
If I got your question right, then the answer is YES; better your have STEP 7, PLCSIM, WinCC, StartDrive all updated to v13 SP1 to open TIA Portal itself. Please do not hesiate to conatct me, in event of any further clarification(s) required.
