A fellow forum user with updater problems fixed their problem.  Today, they posted how.

Something about Windows 10 (newer versions) default to .NET 4.7 which is not compatible with the updater (and other stuff).

Rolling back to an earlier version of Win10 corrected the problem (along with something else I think).

Worth reviewing it to see if there is anything in common with their system and yours.

It hasn't worked for a while on my computer. I have Internet access. The updater just keeps saying "unable to connect to the server"

What is the servers address? I'll see if I can ping it from here...

 NetFxRepairTool  from microsoft helped me. After running NetFxRepairTool, updater is going online. Thanks

Hi Everyone.

I had same problem on 3 different VMs.

And i found my solutions.

I just changed;

Windows 7 x64;

Control Panel, Region and Language,

Formats tab: Format to English (United States)

Keyboards and Languages tab: Display Language to : English

Windows 10 x64;

Same like Windows 7. Changed all setting to English.

And done.

After updates, i changed my languages settings back (Turkish). and problem came back. :-D

Had same issue after updating to Windows 10 version 1809. Download TIA v16 and installer that ASU and it solves the issue.

 Did you even look at the TOP post of this conference? Does that help you?

no server connection TIA-Updater/TIA-Administrator/Server Configuration Tool

As it says in theFAQ Entry ID: 109773511the TIA updater (of old TIA versions) is no longer supported by siemens servers.
I was able to solve the problem by installing the TIA Administrator.

Once instaled the TIA Administrator runs in the web browser (note this software takes time to load from the windows start), you must use windows login user and password and you can get the updates selecting manage software (the updates takes time to appears).

I understood...

i tried to install the "TIAADMIN_V10_SP2.exe" but i have a problem:

at the initial screen, after installing the program, it asks me for the windows credentials ... that I don't know ... I went to the windows credentials, I read the username but I don't see the password ... in practice I don't know how to enter the program!

can you help me?

so if I install only 15.1 on a pc, can I no longer make updates? even if I have regularly purchased licenses? 

I work a lot for FCA and FCA has not yet given the approval for programming with TIA 16

 Did you read the official Siemens document that you can find from the link i shared? There is all the info you need.

You know, that you can have TIA v15.1 and TIA v16 installed at the same time, and you can still work with V15.1.

I have v14 SP1, v15, v15.1 and V16 installed on my laptop, and i use all 4 versions, depending on the project i'm working with.

 Did you read the Siemens document? There is the cause for the modification described. It's all about security, and improvement of security that caused the prior Updater's not to work anymore with Siemens server.

@Roby:

Do you have admin rights to your computer?
You can create a new user profile with admin rights if you have forgotten your own Windows user password:

1) shortcut:   WIN + X
2) Select 'Settings'    (Windows settings)
3) Type 'user' in the search bar, look for 'Add, edit and remove other users'
4) Create a user with password

I have done this to create a new user and could pass this through TIA Administrator.

Problem - you will find a next level of passwords which is related to Siemens.
For this I cannot help you. This applies to installing licenses over the web and does not apply now.

Access through TIA Administrator may pose a problem. This is the reaction that I get from asking the software to look for updates:

Which versions of TIA do you have now and what exactly do you want to update? There are more than one way to get updates.
