Compare Blocks option missing....

Hello everyone,

I am having a problem with my Step 7 and I am hoping someone here has had the same problem and has a solution to it.

The problem is when I select an individual block and select the compare block option, nothing happens. When I right click again on the block the option to compare the block is gone....

If I select the block folder and try to compare all the blocks in the project, there is no problem and works as it should. The problem seems to happen when I only try to compare one block or a group of blocks.

I am using a PG M5 running Windows 10 enterprise

the Step 7 version is V5.6 + SP1  Revision level K5.6.1.0

Hello Rui_t,

are you or have you been using two displays? I had the same problem when I positioned the external monitor from the left to the right of the notebook - before I moved the compare-popup to the left screen. When I rearranged the displays in the Windows display settings it was still there.

Your screenshot is an indicator for that, too, because when the compare-popup is already open you cannot choose it again.

Yes I am using two monitors connected to the PG. So it seems that the compare window is opening to an area that cant be seen. What did you do to fix this problem?

I changed the positions of the monitors in the Windows display settings to have the <physically right> on the left and the <physically left> on the right. Then I moved the popup to the main screen and reset the change.

Hello,

After a new installation of Siemens software, I am suffering the same issue, but in my case I am not using a second screen.

I use a single laptop with the software shown in the attached image. But the issue is the same, once I select compare block for the first time, it does not work, Compare Dialog does not appear. Then neither the option appears in the context menu.

Do you know how can I solve it?

I have check your link, and the last answer was from 2018 with no solution, in spite of installing it again.

Have someone any new about that? I am on a machine commisioning, and it is so disturbing to compare all Block Folder everytime.

This is what i use.

Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB version 1607
